Hydrogen vehicles: what they are and why they are rare here
Last reviewed 2026-07-05 · 5 min read
Direct answer
Hydrogen fuel-cell cars refuel with hydrogen gas and emit water at the tailpipe, but Ghana lacks a public hydrogen refuelling network — so we treat H2 as education and rare verified inventory only, never fake density.
How FCEVs work (simple)
A fuel cell combines hydrogen with oxygen to make electricity for the motors. It is not the same as a battery-only EV.
Infrastructure honesty
Without accessible hydrogen stations, ownership is impractical for most private buyers. We will not market H2 as ready-to-scale in Ghana.
Why we still mention it
“Future-Ready” means the platform taxonomy can hold next technologies when they are real — with the same verification discipline.
